Sydney June Howells, 21, of Monument, CO, was born February 4th, 2003 in Poway, CA & passed away January 2nd, 2025 from a motorcycle accident.
Sydney is the first child of Jeff & Kriquett Howells. She is survived by her parents & her 4 siblings: Hunter (20), London (18), Aspen (15), Gage (14), & many aunts, uncles & cousins.
Sydney grew up in Murrieta, CA. As a youth, she loved playing sports & participating in activities such as volleyball, soccer, piano & church. Sydney loved slumber parties, dancing, & swimming in the family pool--where countless childhood parties were hosted. She received many awards for academics & character. Throughout her childhood, youth & into adulthood, Sydney was always so generous with her service & love to others.
Sydney attended Vista Murrieta High School, where she was a Varsity Scholar Athlete, lettering in basketball & track. Her favorite events were shot put & discus.
In November 2020, in the midst of covid, her family decided to move to Monument, CO, to give them the opportunity to create new life experiences. Sydney spent her last semester at & graduated from Palmer Ridge High School.
Sydney absolutely loved spending time with her family, extended family, & friends. She had a passion for weight-lifting, boxing, riding her motorcycle, traveling, & dancing. She loved nurturing relationships & taking care of children, especially those with special needs.
Because Sydney loved traveling so much, she wanted to be a fight attendant like her Dad, and was currently in the process of applying with different airlines at the time of her death. She also worked at a behavioral therapy clinic for children with special needs.
Even though Sydney was only here for short while, her presence & indelible influence had a ripple effect across many lives. Her absence will leave a huge hole in our hearts, & she will be deeply missed. May we honor her short, impactful life & emulate her spirit of love, contagious laughter, & joy until we meet again.
