Sidney Brockman II died on February 24, 2023, in his home. He was born September 28, 1941,
in Louisville Kentucky, the son of Sidney Brockman and Jane Stigers Brockman.
The son of an Army Doctor, Sid moved frequently throughout his childhood, attending 13

Florida, and Colorado Springs. He also served overseas assignments in Iceland and Greenland.
He left active duty service after 10 years, and then served an additional 3 years in the reserves.
On August 10, 1968, he married Faye Bemis in San Antonio, Texas. In November, 1980 the
couple moved to their family home in Parker, Colorado. Sid worked for Martin Marietta, for over
16 years, retiring shortly after the company’s merger to become Lockheed Martin. Sid went on
to work as a proposal manager for Shipley Associates for another 16 years. Sid was an avid
volunteer with Odyssey of the Mind for over 20 years serving as a coach, a judge, and a trainer
at both the state and national levels. In his final retirement, Sid enjoyed volunteering at Wings
Over the Rockies, and The PACE Center.
In addition to his parents, Sid is predeceased by his wife, Faye Brockman, and his sister,
Barbara Brockman. Sid is survived by his brother Bill Brockman, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida;
his daughters Beth Newberry of Fairborn, Ohio, and Mollie Wertman, of Grand Junction,
