Richard Lynn Bearden, known to his loved ones as Dick and Dad Dogg, passed away on February 3, 2024, at the age of 75 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on August 23, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas.
A ceremony to celebrate Dick's life will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 10am at The Church at Woodmoor in Monument, Colorado. An after party will be held at Pikes Peak Brewery in Monument immediately following the ceremony.
Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his big smile, love of cooking and a passion for traveling. He threw great parties and was an amazing organizer, and his Oktoberfest was known and loved. He founded and ran his own business for over 50 years in Colorado and in Germany. In Germany he also served his country in the US Army. He was an avid runner and continued jogging throughout his life. Dick was always positive and supportive and always the first to tell his family how proud he was of them. Marilyn and Dick have been married for 45 years. He was the proud father of three grown children (Patrick Bearden, Ryan Bearden, and Kaylan Riley) and three small grandchildren (Jonah Riley, Forrest Riley, and Taytum Riley). Dick came from a large loving family of six boys and one girl. He is survived by his four brothers, David, Don, Doug and Dennis. He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his sister Sally, brother Dan and his mother and father, Helen and David.
