OBITUARY FOR MATEO KING FIEBER (10-22-25 to 01-24-26)

 

In loving remembrance, we gently celebrate the tender, beautiful life of Mateo King Fieber, born October 22, 2025. Mateo was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of January 24, 2026, passing peacefully in his sleep. He is lovingly survived by his devoted parents, Veronica Fieber and Angel De La Cruz, of Colorado Springs; grandparents Brett and Valerie Baumer of Monument, Tom and Bridget Fieber of Missouri, and Irene and Manuel Gutierrez Ruiz of Palmer Lake; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly; as well as many who will carry him in their hearts forever.  As we grieve, we also hold close to the gratitude of having known him.  

 

Mateo was deeply loved and joyfully spoiled. He was the firstborn, the first grandchild, and the first nephew, a true blessing to his family. He was constantly surrounded by grandparents, aunts, and uncles who adored him. His spirit was sweet and bright and his presence had a way of making everything feel warmer.

 

He kept his mother and father on their toes with his ever-changing sleep schedule and stole everyone’s hearts as he began to find his own voice. Often snug in a dinosaur or bear onesie, Mateo found joy in music, and his favorite song was his mother’s, “A Bushel and a Peck.” He was just learning to grasp on to things, and sitting still was unheard of. His sweet temperament and gentle nature made him all the more lovable.

 

Though Mateo's life was heartbreakingly brief, it was complete in the way that truly matters.  He knew love every day of his life.  The impact Mateo had on each of our lives will be eternal. His beautiful smile made every sleepless night worthwhile. He was surrounded by the love and support of his entire family. While the ache of what might have been will never fade, neither will our love for Mateo.  His life will always matter and his memory will always be a blessing.

 

Private services will be held on February 1, 2026, for immediate family only. A celebration of life will be held at a later date so extended family and friends may honor Mateo’s life and support his parents.
