MaryAnne Garcia Obituary

MaryAnne Garcia, 85, born March 5, 1937 went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022.  She is survived by her 3 children, Gail Philips and husband Paul Philips, Amy Rance, and Greg Garcia and wife Christina Garcia.  MaryAnne has 3 grandchildren Lauren May of Michigan, Brandon and Matthew Garcia of Texas.  MaryAnne graduated from Illinois Masonic Hospital School of Nursing in September 1958.  She attended a party for pre-med students and among the attendees was Francisco (Frank) Sayt Garcia who came to this country from Colombia, South America to study Engineering but did not yet speak English.  Apparently, the language of love brought them together and they were married in 1960.  MaryAnne worked in Geriatrics, Psychiatrics, and Urology before transitioning to be a school nurse so she could keep close watch over her children.  She retired from McCullough High School in the Woodlands, Texas.

MaryAnne and Frank left Texas to travel and enjoy their retirement in Monument, Colorado.  Although they loved Colorado their heart was back in Texas to which they returned.  After Frank’s passing MaryAnne lived in San Antonio until she was ready to move back to Colorado.  MaryAnne resided at Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living where she received such loving care and assistance by the incredible Staff.   During her last weeks before going Home to a place of ultimate joy and peace the amazing Abode Hospice team paved her way to the Lord by providing such love, compassion, and tender comfort.  We can truly celebrate MaryAnne for a life well lived and well loved.
