Lawrence ‘Larry’ Michael O’Brien, 69, of Ellicott, Colorado, passed away on
January 14, 2025.
Larry was born on August 20, 1955, to Lawrence Stanley O’Brien and Marjorie
Jane Miller, in St. Albans, NY. After Larry graduated from Farmingdale High
School in 1973, he went on to work for Grummans Aerospace.
In 1977, Larry met his beautiful bride of 44 years, Linda Bailey, on a fishing trip.
They went on to have 2 boys, Jeremy and Tim. In 2008, his family gained a
daughter, Mary, when Jeremy married. Larry was promoted to grandpa, or as we
call him, Papu, in 2010 with the birth of his grandson, Mason. He was blessed
again in 2011 with a granddaughter, Maggie. Mason and Maggie were his
greatest joy.
He retired in 2014, spending his days studying his Bible, playing the guitar, and
keeping his family constantly entertained by his antics.
Larry was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Jane Miller O’Brien, his
grandmother, Josephine O’Brien, his sister-in-law, Susan Bailey, his nephew,
Ryan Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bailey O’Brien, sons Jeremy and
Tim, O’Brien, daughter in law, Mary Brown O’Brien, grandchildren, Mason and
Maggie O’Brien, father Larry O’Brien and sister and brother-in-law Laurie & Brian
Massey and many nieces and nephews..
Services will be held at Secret Window Weddings Venue and Events, 47 3rd St,
Monument, CO 80132 on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 4:30-6pm. Reception to follow. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude, Samaritan’s Purse,
Tunnel 2 Towers or Wounded Warrior. All organizations Larry supported.
