Killian Michael Callahan Obituary

OBITUARY
Killian Michael Callahan
(February 1, 1993 – September 11, 2025)

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our son Killian Michael Callahan, on
September 11, 2025.

Killian was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, in the chill of winter, and immediately
warmed up the lives of Patrick and Jill.

Killian then got a taste of military brat life, moving to and growing up in Fayetteville,
NC, near Fort Bragg. He made some lifelong friends in North Carolina and began his journey in
the sports of hockey and skateboarding. Killian was a very skilled player throughout his playing
years and a joy to watch on the ice. As with all military families, the Army moved them, this
time to Virginia. Killian continued his path in hockey, skateboarding, and life in Montclair, VA.
Killian’s hockey skills led him to play junior-level hockey for various teams in Virginia, and
more importantly, he made great friendships with fellow players that he continued to keep in
touch with throughout his life.

The family then moved to Colorado, where Killian found a great community in which he
explored his musical ambitions and developed a true love of exploring the outdoors with his
dogs. Killian was an incredibly talented musician who loved playing his guitar and jamming out
whenever possible. He also loved his dogs, Layla and Elwing, with all of his being. His happiest
times were hiking with his dogs and reading the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Killian tragically passed in a car accident. Killian’s life was not an easy one, as he
struggled with the scourge of mental illness. His family and friends worked hard to support and
love Killian during challenging times, although this illness will not define how he will be
remembered. Killian will always be remembered as a kind, loving soul whose memory will live
on in our hearts forever.

Killian is survived by his mother and father, Jill and Patrick Callahan; his siblings
Brianna, Liam, Eryn, and Neill; grandparents, Bill and Ruth Callahan, and Joyce Gagnon; his
dog Elwing; and Multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive him.
His family and friends will deeply miss Killian forever.
In place of flowers, donations can be made to either Paws N Hooves; or The Heinz C. Prechter
Bipolar Research Program (University of Michigan).

A reception will follow after the service.
