Kathleen Rasmussen Scadden returned to the loving embrace of our Savior and her departed loved ones on 25 June 2026 at the age of 77.  After a probable life-ending surgery 19 years ago, she enjoyed a second lease on life and passed in her sleep following renewed health difficulties.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Glenn; her children Marlene (Christine), Michael (Leah), Michele (Daniel), Brian (Vanessa), and Kevin (Yvette). She was proudly blessed with 13 grandchildren: Savannah, Sydney, Chloe, Alexandra, Cooper, Sierra, Naomi, Janelle, Josiah, Korbin, Brooklyn, Carly, and Ila; along with a great-grandchild Tyler.  And her siblings Keith (Mary Sue), Beverly, and Vicki (Mark). She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ila Rasmussen, and her siblings Barbara, Boyd (Delsa), and Andy.

Kathleen's life revolved around faith, family, friends, and music.  Born on 24 November 1948 in Ogden, UT, the fifth of six children, she grew up in a strong, faith-filled family, where her mother's piano and organ teaching filled their humble home with music.  She admired both of her parents and emulated her mother by teaching piano and organ from a young age and performing with her high school's glee club.

She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Stewart Scadden, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 5 September 1968.  She studied music at Weber State University and taught piano and organ lessons throughout adulthood, even while raising their five children.

Following the early years of marriage in West Valley City, UT supporting her husband's military service and career pursuits while raising their young family, they settled in Monument, CO, in 1983.  For her remaining 43 years, she devoted herself to church service, supporting her family, and teaching music.  Jesus Christ has always been central to her life, and she relished serving weekly in the Denver Temple with family and friends.

Some of her other favorite activities included camping and hiking with family, traveling to visit loved ones, gardening, quilting, needlework, cooking, and canning food.  Always social, she treasured everyone in her life and was especially devoted to her children and beloved husband.

All are invited to attend her viewing at 9:00 a.m. and funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on 11 July 2026, held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 950 CO Hwy 105, Monument, CO 80132.

Because of her devotion to church philanthropy and her admiration for Glenn’s outdoor volunteer service, Kathleen requested that her memory be honored, in lieu of flowers, with a charitable donation to LDS Philanthropies or Wildland Restoration Volunteers (tribute gift notification: Glenn Scadden, glenn.scadden@earthlink.net).
