Jo-Ann McCurley of Monument, Colorado, passed away on September 3, 2023 at the age of 84. Jo-Ann was born February 9, 1939 in Brewster Colorado to Guido and Margaret (Pinamoni) Telck.
After graduating from St. Scholastica high school, she went on to work at the Fremont County Court House. In 1962, Jo-Ann married William M.V. McCurley in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. They went on to have six children: William (Kelly) McCurley Jr, Patrick (Emily) McCurley, Sherry-Lynn McCurley, Kimberly (Dale) Lucky (McCurley), Annette (Rodney) Biggs (McCurley), and James (Kathy) McCurley.
With the exception of living in Alaska for three years, she was a lifelong resident of Colorado. While in Alaska, she made many memories with her kids and father. Upon her return to Colorado, she raised her five children in Colorado Springs where she enjoyed watching them play sports. She was a devout Catholic and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Colorado Springs. Jo-Ann took great pleasure in spoiling her 9 grandchildren, taking them for adventures every chance she got. She thoroughly enjoyed racing her Pontiac Trans Am on the streets of Colorado Springs. She spent many summers camping with her family to Saguache Park where they would fish and tell family stories around the campfire. Her roses were always the best on the block due to her love of gardening.
Jo-Ann was preceded in death by her parents Guido and Margaret, her husband William, her brother Richard, daughter Sherry-Lynn, and great grandson Dean.
She is survived by her five children, her sister Margaret, her 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A Rosary was held on September 8th 2023 and a private service was held on September 9, 2023 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Black Forest Colorado.
She will be missed.
