'Iolani Ikehara, Loving wife and dedicated mother passed away at home in Monument , Colorado surrounded by family on 2 September 2023. Born on 5 January 1953 to Robert McDonald and Helen Wai'ale in Kaua'i, Iolani was the second of three daughters. After graduating from Kamehameha schools in 1971, she attended college in Oregon where she met future husband Adrian. Following graduation in 1975, she returned to Hawaii and quickly rose through the ranks at Bank of Hawaii. Adrian and Iolani got married in 1987. She homeschooled four children between 1994 and 2009, after which she took a job as the NAF budget director on Schofield Barracks in Wahiawa, Hawaii.She later took a job at Fort Carson, Colorado and worked tirelessly as the chief financial officer. She retired in 2020 to spend more time with her grandkids Ikaia and Malulani, especially enjoying their academic prowess and athletic endeavors.
She is survived by her husband Adrian: son, Kazden Kauwilanuimakaehaonalani and daughter, Marika Kauwilanuimakaehaonalani and significant other, Janine, son: Mykenna Kala'iluaokeolaolaokamauoha and wife: Hatsune, daughter, Marika Kahulaliwaioluikamaluhia and significant other, Malik as wells grandson , Ikaia and son, Zen Kanani' Ikeaikaulupali and fiancé, Anna; and sister, Bobette McDonald.
