It is with deep sadness that we announce Ret. Col Gregory Alan Whaley 71 years old of Colorado Springs, CO passed away in his sleep June 20, 2025. Greg was born May 17, 1954 in Washington DC. He is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served 23 years in Intelligence Operations, as a Commander and Bomber Pilot in the B1b and B52 airframes. Greg received a masters in business from Wharton, a masters in OR from AFIT, and graduated from the USAFA in 1976. Greg opened his own business Academy Solutions Group LLC after graduating from Wharton. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, golfing , mineral collecting and traveling. Gregory is survived by his wife, Bonnie Whaley, his daughter Jamie Whaley and husband Thomas Chau. His father Ret. Chief MS Leland Whaley, his sister Deborah Ahern and husband Craig King. His niece Amanda Graff and husband Tyson Graff, Grayson Graff, Preston Graff. His nephew Steven Ahern and his wife Lindsay Ahern. His Brother Gary Whaley and wife Paula Whaley, Allie Whaley, and Sydney Whaley.
Gregory was laid to rest June 30 at the Air force Academy.
