Garrett Waggoner Sullivan Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Garrett Waggoner Sullivan, who left this world on June 4, 2025, at the tender age of 20. Born on April 7, 2005, in Jacksonville, FL, Garrett’s journey on this earth was brief yet filled with love, laughter, and a myriad of accomplishments that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Garrett was the beloved son of Allen and Debra Sullivan and the cherished brother of Wyatt Sullivan. He is survived by his loving grandparents, Jim and Aleta Sullivan, and Sam and Bonnie Raff, as well as his aunts, Lisa Borger, Julie Wilson, and Linda Haynes. His family, friends, and community will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Garrett’s education was a testament to his dedication and passion for learning. He attended the DaVinci Academy Elementary School, continued his academic journey through the Arts Academy at Eagleview Middle School, and graduated from Air Academy High School Class of 2023 in Colorado Springs. During his high school years, he excelled as a member of both the International Thespian Honor Society and the National Honor Society, showcasing his remarkable talents and commitment to his studies. He competed at Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) State competition, State Forensics, and National Forensics.  He further pursued his dreams at the University of Denver, where he was an active member of the Voces Fortes Choir, sharing his love for music with fellow students and the community.

Garrett was not only an outstanding student but also a gifted performer. His talents in dramatic and musical theater shone brightly, as he effortlessly took on both dramatic and comedic roles. With a larger-than-life personality, he captivated audiences and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who witnessed his performances. His kindness, gentleness, and caring nature made him a trustworthy friend and a beacon of light in any room.

In addition to his academic and artistic pursuits, Garrett was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying skiing, biking, target shooting, roller coasters, and fireworks in Kansas with his family most every 4th of July. He especially loved Shakespeare, Elvis, Will Rogers, Beetlejuice, and a variety of music, movies, musicals, and comedy. His adventurous spirit and zest for life inspired those around him to embrace every moment and find joy in the little things.

Garrett will be remembered for his honorable character, his giving heart, and his unwavering respect for others. He had an innate ability to uplift those around him, and his legacy of kindness will continue to influence the lives of many.

As his family navigates this significant loss, they respectfully request time to come to peace with their grief. Memorial services to honor Garrett’s life and legacy will be determined at a later date, allowing friends and family the opportunity to gather and celebrate the beautiful soul that he was.

In this time of sorrow, we encourage everyone to cherish the memories of Garrett Waggoner Sullivan. May we all strive to embody the traits that made him so special: kindness, generosity, respect for others, and a passion for life. Rest in peace, dear Garrett. You will be dearly missed and forever loved more than our words can express. We will see you again in Heaven.
