Donn Waldon Jones

Donn Waldon Jones born on August 16, 1939, passed away on June 6, 2022 at the age of 82.
Born in Billings, Montana to Colonel John Waldon Jones and Evelyn Corrine Schroeder.

After Donn’s birth, the family relocated to his father’s duty station at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
On December 7 th 1941, at the young age of 28 months, Donn and his parents survived the bombing of
Pearl Harbor. Shortly thereafter, his mother and him were brought back stateside by ship to
San Francisco, CA.

Having moved to Colorado in his teen years, Donn graduated high school from Colorado Springs High
School, now known as Palmer High School. Following his graduation and through his father, he received
a Presidential and Congressional appointment to attend the USAFA, to which he kindly declined.
Needless to say, his father was not pleased with this decision, thus Donn joined the U S Air Force on his
own accord through enlistment. Upon leaving the Air Force by way of honorable discharge, Donn went
on to attend Cal State Fullerton, receiving his Bachelors in science & psychology and his Masters in
business & finance.

Donn soon after joined Xerox, working his way up to an executive position, spending 30 years with the
company, retiring in 1996. Donn then spent the next several years enjoying his retirement and caring
for his ailing mother. In 2004 he came out of retirement by joining Costco, giving 15 years of service to
the company, until he finally decided to hang up his hat in 2019, at the wonderful age of 80.

Donn is survived by his wife Linda Baker, sister Barbara Laurora, brother Glenn Jones, son Randy Jones,
three stepchildren; Gary Baker, Brandi Baker and the late Monique Doud, and four grandchildren;
Shelby Kelle, Lexus Kelle, Austin Doud and Bailey Doud.

Service will be held Friday June 10 th , 2022 at 11:00am
