It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our family matriarch, Coletta A. Bauer. The family will be hosting a memorial event November 17th, 2023 in Monument, CO. Please see details below.
BAUER, COLETTA A. - Coletta Ann Bauer (Kemper) was born on August 21st, 1934 in Logan, KS to Frank and Minnie Kemper. Coletta passed away on October 16th, 2023 in Palmer Lake, CO at the age of 89. Coletta, the youngest of 6 children, was fierce from the beginning. She moved to Denver, CO at the young age of 17 with her best friend. Wanting a new start in a big city, Coletta met the love of her life, Owen T. Bauer. Owen, who was enlisted in the United States Air Force, wouldn't wait long to make Coletta his wife. The couple wed on September 5th, 1953. Coletta was a devout Catholic and spent her life in the church. She loved her faith so much so that she became an ordained minister later in her life. Coletta was a mother, her most loved job. She has 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. Coletta got a later start in the working world as she dedicated her early years to motherhood and her marriage. She later went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science Degree and 2 Masters degrees. She was an extremely successful business woman and retired after 20 years with AT&T. Coletta was an avid traveler. She visited all 7 continents and spent years collecting trinkets from her travels for her family. Coletta has 8 grand children and 15 great-grandchildren. Coletta is proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, husband (Owen), her daughter (Cheryl S. Bauer) and her son (Mark J. Bauer). Coletta is survived by her sons Bradley K. Bauer of Palmer Lake, CO, Thomas O. Bauer of San Antonio, TX and Scott A. Bauer of Niceville, FL as well as her 8 grand children and 15 great-grandchildren.
