Beverly Ann (Stack) Carlson

Beverly was born in Chicago, IL on August 2, 1942 to Florey and Dorothy Stack. She went to St John Birchman's for grammar school (where she became inspired to become a teacher) and St Benedicts for high school. There she met and dated future husband, Jim Fink.

She attended Chicago Teachers College North, and because of the teacher shortage quit to teach in Catholic schools in the area. She married Jim in 1964 and stopped teaching to have children, Mick and Dan. When the kids were old enough she finished her degree at Northeastern University and resumed teaching at Cumberland School in Des Plaines, IL. Eventually she became a teacher for the gifted, then director of the gifted program.

Beverly divorced in 1985 and soon met Ken Carlson. They were married in 1992 and retired to Colorado Springs. Ken died in 2012, but Beverly kept active in the church and community and kept in touch with many former students.

She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late 2018, and after chemotherapy and surgery lived cancer free for a little while until succumbing to the disease.

She is survived by sons Mick and Dan, and grandchildren Jessica, Laurel, and August.
