Alice Rouse Obituary

Alice Elaine (Sherwood) Rouse ran into the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ on April 13 th , 2026. She passed suddenly and unexpectedly from a massive cerebral
hemorrhage at her home in Monument, Colorado. Alice was 69 years old, and is survived by
her husband Darren of 33 ½ years, and her older brother, Mike and wife LaDonnah, of
Laingsburg, Michigan, as well as extended family, including 3 sisters-in-law, Hayley, Kelly, Toni
and Husband Ben and son Stone, her father-in-law, Keith and wife Sue, and step-father-in-law,
Tony.

Alice was born June 06, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to parents Lee and Norma Sherwood,
both now with the Lord. She trusted Jesus for her salvation at a young age and loved being
outdoors in His creation. She attended high school in Petrolia, Texas, and then went on to earn
her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
Alice married her first husband in 1977, and they moved to New Mexico. He sadly passed away
suddenly in 1986. Alice enjoyed a successful career as a periodontal hygienist, even earning
her anesthesia license. Alice met her husband Darren in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1990, and
they were married in 1992 while attending graduate school at the University of New Mexico in
Albuquerque. Darren joined the U.S. Army, and their first duty station took them to Germany for
3 years. After their time in Germany, they were stationed at Fort Hood, Texas until Darren’s
discharge from the Army in 2001. They stayed in Central Texas, living in Waco for 5 years
before moving to Colorado in 2006, a dream of Alice’s since childhood when she would spend a
week at The Navigators’ Youth Camp at Glen Eyrie and a week at the YMCA of the Rockies with
her parents each summer.

Alice was a passionate, faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a precious, loving wife, a best friend, a
wise counselor, and a “critter mommy” to her two dogs. She loved Jesus and His Word with all
of her being. She was an avid Bible reader, starting each morning in the Word, and reading
through the entire Bible each year. She would want you to know that God loves you, and He
wants you to be with Him in Heaven forever. You need only to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Savior. A favorite of Alice’s, the “Romans Road” verses teach the simple but powerful
message of Jesus’ salvation: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9-10,
Romans 10:13, along with Romans 5:1, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:38-39.

Memorial Services for Alice are pending and will be determined at a later date. Services are
under the direction of Tri-Lakes Funeral and Cremation in Monument, Colorado. In lieu of flowers,
donations are encouraged to the following Christian
